Nature Investment Hub proudly welcomes six new partners: Allied Certifications Ltd., Centre de recherche appliquée sur la biodiversité et les écosystèmes (CRABE), Forum for Impact, Impact United Academy, Natural Assets Initiative, and Propel Impact.
“As the Nature Investment Hub continues to mature as an ecosystem enabler for Canada’s nature finance market, so does our partner engagement strategy” says Managing Director, Priya Bala-Miller. “Recognizing the critical importance impact-oriented investment will play in the next five years, we are delighted to welcome committed players in the impact space, as well as those who bring valuable insights on research, data and certification as vital market enablers.”
Working with Nations to use certification as a tool for economic realignment: Allied Certifications Ltd.
Allied Certifications knows that without dismantling colonial culture and building respect for Natural Law, there can be no resolution to the climate crisis and no social justice. They develop certification standards on behalf of Indigenous Nations, recognizing business operators on Indigenous land as “Allies” for committing to respect laws and protocols and contribute Ecosystem Stewardship Fees. Allied Certifications sees their Ally Certification programs as a low barrier, inexpensive conservation finance tool that can earn revenue and build settler support and respect for Indigenous governance and stewardship.
“Allied Certifications is thrilled to partner with the Nature Investment Hub. We strive to model “Allyship” and Right Relationship for settlers and materially strengthen Indigenous-led land-care traditions. Our Ally Certification programs are a tool to reposition settler economic activity into Indigenous economic systems – like the Nuu-chah-nulth Potlatch Economy where our existing Tla-o-qui-aht Tribal Parks Allies Project has certified over 150 “Allies.” Nature Investment Hub convenes the space where rights-holders, innovators, and funders can communicate the inherent value of healthy ecosystems to “the market”. We are humbled to be invited to participate in this existential work to heal ourselves and our relationships to other living beings.”

Bridging biodiversity science and decision-making: Centre de recherche appliquée sur la biodiversité et les écosystèmes (CRABE)
A collaboration between the Université du Québec en Outaouais (UQO) and the environmental consulting firm Habitat, proudly supported by the Fonds de recherche du Québec, CRABE seeks to bring together academic experts around concrete and promising projects, and to disseminate biodiversity science across all decision-making sectors of Quebec society to create the changes needed for economies to operate within planetary boundaries.
“We are honoured to join the Nature Investment Hub and its network of partners, united by the belief that nature, the economy, and communities can move forward together. Through collaboration, we can accelerate nature finance, spark bold solutions, and bring meaningful projects to life. We are proud to be part of this collective movement and to actively contribute to advancing this ambition across Canada.

Mobilizing investment and philanthropic capital for sustainable oceans: Forum for Impact
Forum for Impact hosts a network of family offices and impact investors around the world with the purpose of mobilizing investment and philanthropic capital for a range of sustainability initiatives, including oceans. They create private, invite-only dialogues to assemble global leaders to share their knowledge, stories and journeys to inspire other investors to create a positive impact in the world. They build on these dialogues to create meaningful, measurable change.
“We’re thrilled to collaborate deeply with Nature Investment Hub/Generate Canada to address ocean health as planetary health, as this is the foundation of all economic value. To seize this opportunity a foundational blended finance architecture for ocean finance is being created, from early-stage support, de-risking instruments, and new business models that align investments with the ocean’s regenerative potential. Together we are addressing systemic barriers to unlocking the flow of capital to sustainable oceans projects and creating end-to-end integrated financial solutions and frameworks that allow for blended finance from philanthropists, impact investors, institutional investors, and governments”.
— Andrew Harris, Lead, Sustainable Oceans, Forum for Impact & Michael Meehan, CEO, Forum for Impact
Convening, educating, and empowering investors: Impact United Academy
Founded in 2020 and incubated by SVX, Impact United was created and envisioned as a movement of impact investors and asset owners across Canada seeking to mobilize their investment capital towards social, economic and environmental justice. In 2025, Impact United Academy was established as an independent charitable organization to focus on convening, educating, and empowering this national community of individual and institutional investors and asset owners through peer learning, research, and thought leadership.
“Impact United Academy is a community of Canadian investors and asset owners who believe their capital can and should create positive social, environmental, and economic benefits for all – and investing in Canada’s natural assets delivers returns across all three. From honouring Indigenous stewardship traditions to protecting Canada’s clean air, water, and biodiversity, investing in natural assets creates the kind of returns that matter most. We are excited to join the Nature Investment Hub and weave nature finance into the core of how our community learns and invests together.”
— James Chan & Michelle Baldwin, Co-Executive Directors, Impact United Academy
Guiding how society identifies, values, and accounts for natural assets: Natural Assets Initiative
The Natural Assets Initiative (NAI) is non-profit that is changing the way local governments, watershed stewards, and many others deliver everyday services by improving the quality and resiliency of infrastructure at lower costs and reduced risks.
NAI’s team provides scientific, economic, and civic expertise to guide communities across Canada in identifying, valuing, and accounting for natural assets in their financial planning and asset management programs, and in developing leading-edge, sustainable, and climate-resilient natural infrastructure solutions.
“The Natural Assets Initiative’s (NAI) mission is to make natural asset management a mainstream practice across Canada, and to inspire action beyond. One of the biggest barriers to managing nature as a vital asset is financing. NAI’s role in the Nature Investment Hub is to help remove that barrier—by working with others to develop and mobilize investment solutions that make natural asset management more viable and scalable.”
— Roy Brooke, Executive Director, Natural Assets Initiative
Developing the talent pipeline to drive impact through investing: Propel Impact
Propel Impact is a national nonprofit dedicated to preparing youth to be leaders in sustainability and social impact through experiential learning programs. By bringing together youth talent and impact-driven companies and nonprofits, Propel’s programs address capacity gaps faced by many organizations and create career pathways for Canada’s next generation of leaders. Through its Impact Investing Fellowship, Propel is changing the investment paradigm by placing the youth in the investor seat and deploying capital in a place-based model to support early-stage ventures and not-for-profit organizations building category-defining solutions that ensure future generations inherit a livable planet.
“As an organization focused on youth, we believe it is time to hand the reins to the generation whose ambition is just as big as the problems they’re up against. Propel Impact is thrilled to partner with the Nature Investment Hub and join a movement that is dissatisfied with the status quo, shares our passion for disrupting the current flow of capital toward environmental solutions, and is driving innovative and impactful nature-based interventions in their work.”
— Tristan Smyth, Managing Director, Propel Impact
