Redefining how we fund climate resilience by turning ecological restoration into investable action: Blue Forest
Blue Forest is a conservation finance non-profit transforming how ecological restoration is funded and scaled. By uniting science, community leadership, and innovative financial tools, Blue Forest mobilizes capital for high-impact forest and watershed restoration projects across North America. Their flagship model — the Forest Resilience Bond — channels public and private investment into reducing wildfire risk, improving water security, and strengthening climate resilience. Rooted in rigorous research and collaborative partnerships, Blue Forest delivers long-term environmental, social, and economic benefits for the landscapes and communities that need them most.
“Blue Forest is honored to join the Nature Investment Hub as we explore how to unlock new sources of capital for ecological restoration and Indigenous-led stewardship. As we might adapt financial models like the Forest Resilience Bond to address familiar challenges in new geographic contexts, we are grateful to do so with a network of partners at the NIH that share our spirit of innovation and our vision for resilient communities and an inclusive process to ecosystem resilience at the landscape scale.”

Guided by a science-backed approach and Indigenous knowledge, ECA works with local communities and landowners, stakeholders, governments, and partners to preserve key natural landscapes, halt harmful development to secure long-term protection and promote a conservation economy.
“The Escarpment Corridor Alliance (ECA) is a regional conservation charity and land trust with an innovative and holistic approach to nature-based solutions. Our vision of a connected and protected ecological corridor across tens of thousands of hectares across the South Georgian Bay escarpment region, a near-urban nature environment, is an ambitious, complex and large scale concept that requires innovative funding models. Harnessing Indigenous leadership to drive systems-level change for people and nature: Raven Outcomes Funds
Raven Outcomes Funds is an Indigenous-led impact fund reshaping how capital flows into Indigenous communities across Canada. Through a pioneering outcomes-finance model, Raven aligns investors, government, and philanthropy behind solutions that are designed, led, and delivered by Indigenous communities. Raven Outcomes uses Community-Driven Outcomes Contracts (CDOCs), meaning investments are made up front, but governments only repay when real outcomes are achieved—holding every dollar accountable. Its first fund, Raven Indigenous Outcomes Fund I, targets a $50 million portfolio focused on climate and health and. All projects are co-designed with communities and evaluated through a Two-Eyed Seeing” lens that honors both Indigenous and Western ways of knowing.
“Joining the Nature Investment Hub is about more than partnership. It’s about advancing reconciliation and shaping a future where nature-based solutions are central to Canada’s economic and social resilience. Indigenous peoples have been stewards of the land and in relationship with nature since time immemorial, and that knowledge must guide how capital flows to restore ecosystems and strengthen communities. At Raven Outcomes, we believe Indigenous-led innovation and outcome-based finance can unlock transformative change for people and planet.”
