Nature Investment Hub welcomes four new partners: CPAWS, Nationsfirst Technologies, SVX, and TELUS. The partners represent corporate, investor intermediary, environmental non-governmental, and Indigenous organizations, in a microcosm of the cross-sectoral collaboration that powers the Hub’s impact.
“We are proud to welcome our four new partners, each of whom brings unique strengths and perspectives to the table,” said Priya Bala-Miller, Managing Director, Nature Investment Hub. “The calibre and diversity of these new partners signals how nature stewardship is a priority for all aspects of our economy.”
“New partners join a growing group of collaborators who will be instrumental in shaping and delivering our two flagship initiatives—the Nature Finance Bootcamp and the 5X for Nature: Our Nature Finance Agenda to 2030,” added Priya Bala-Miller. “These innovative made-in-Canada initiatives are designed to be collaborative, grounded in the practical challenges and opportunities of nature finance, and action-oriented.”
Definitive corporate leadership and restoration: TELUS
TELUS is helping to define what corporate leadership looks like in the nature finance space, with a strong focus on restoration. Their involvement underscores the importance of private-sector actors not just stepping up, but stepping in–bringing investment capacity, strategic connections, and a collaborative approach to innovation.
"Partnering with the Nature Investment Hub is a strategic collaboration to drive investment to nature-based solutions, working alongside others to accelerate the scale of restoration projects needed in Canada,” said Kim Rapagna, Global Head, Sustainability & ESG, TELUS and TELUS Digital. “Aligning TELUS' commitment to nature-based solutions with the Hub's ambition to significantly increase investment in nature, we will leverage the Hub's working groups and network to accelerate our collective efforts."
Longstanding conservation expertise and outcomes: Canadian Parks and Wilderness Society (CPAWS)
CPAWS joins the Hub with more than six decades of experience advancing conservation solutions across Canada. Their leadership in helping to establish new parks and protected areas, and in ensuring existing ones are effectively managed to protect nature, is central to unlocking the kinds of outcomes that investors and communities alike are seeking.
"CPAWS believes that protecting Canada's nature is an all-of-society effort,” said Jason Wong, Economic Analyst, CPAWS National. “We are excited to partner with the NIH to highlight environmentally responsible and innovative ways that different sectors can invest in to safeguard nature and its numerous benefits for Canadian communities.”
Foundational blockchain technology for Indigenous data sovereignty: Nationsfirst Technologies
Nationsfirst Technologies offers a bold, forward-looking perspective on how technology can support self-determination as we build a nature finance market in Canada. Their application of blockchain tools to uphold Indigenous data sovereignty is not only timely—it’s foundational. Their leadership ensures that communities can retain full autonomy over their digital assets and information, supporting more reliable, community-led conservation and stewardship.
“We're excited to join the Nature Investment Hub network of allies working to grow Indigenous participation in nature-related markets,” said Judy Galvez, Chief Finance Officer, Nationsfirst Technologies. “Our technology provides Indigenous communities with a customized network environment to manage natural asset data securely, govern community projects with transparency, and distribute value equitably.”
A wealth of experience in the impact investing ecosystem: SVX
SVX brings over a decade of experience working with investors, funds, enterprises, and institutions to drive impact across several sectors. Their work building capacity and investment readiness, designing and managing impact funds, and operating an online investment platform positions them as a key intermediary in the growing nature finance market.
"We are proud to join the Nature Investment Hub as a partner in accelerating innovative, inclusive, and impactful nature finance solutions across Canada,” said Adam Spence, CEO, SVX. “This collaboration reflects our shared commitment to transforming capital and business so that it values nature as foundational to both community well-being and economic resilience.”
